Every March, Salish School of Spokane co-sponsors the Celebrating Salish Conference with the Kalispel Tribe, Salish Institute, and Inchelium Language & Culture Association.
The Conference is an opportunity to gather together to celebrate our strengths and accomplishments so that our language learners, teachers, programs, and communities are energized and encouraged to keep going on their paths to fluency.
The first Salish Conference was organized by Salish School of Spokane in 2009 and was held at Spokane Falls Community College with support from the SFCC Office of the President and the Kalispel Tribe. In 2010, the Conference was held at Northern Quest Resort Casino with sponsorship from the Kalispel Tribe. Since that first year at SFCC with 70 people in attendance, the Celebrating Salish Conference has grown and thrived and now counts more than 600 participants annually.
The 2025 Celebrating Salish Conference will take place on March 12-14 at Northern Quest Resort Casino and at the Spokane Tribal Casino and Hotel. Registration and other conference information is available at the website.
